Dr. Craig Symonds - Professor Emeritus, United States Naval Academy and winner of the 2009 Lincoln Prize for his book, Lincoln and his Admirals.  Dr. Symonds superb presentation highlighted the link between Lincoln and naval commanders and operations during the Civil War.  Dr. Symonds has appeared on C-SPAN programs and is the author of numerous highly recommended books including The Civil War at Sea, The Battle of Midway, and Decision at Sea: Five Naval battles that Shaped American History.

Mr. Daniel Carroll Toomey - a leading authority on the Civil War in Maryland and guest curator at the B & O Railroad Museum in Baltimore.  Mr. Toomey rendered an outstanding program on Abraham Lincoln and his connection with the B & O Railroad and its importance to the Union effort during the Civil War.  A guest lecturer at the Smithsonian and the Johns Hopkins University, Mr. Toomey is the author of several outstanding books including the recently released The War Came by Train: The Baltimore & Ohio Railroad During the Civil War, Marylanders in Blue: The Artillery and the Cavalry, The Civil War in Maryland, and Union Civil War Veterans Organizations in Maryland.

Dr. Jean H. Baker – well-known professor of history at Goucher College.  Dr. Baker spoke on the relationship in the Civil War Whitehouse between Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln and how that relationship influenced decision making during the war.  Dr. Baker is the author of several exceptional works on 19th-century American history, including Mary Todd Lincoln: A Biography, Sisters: The Lives of America's Suffragists, and The Stevensons: A Biography of an American Family.

Dr. Christopher S. Stowe - associate professor of history, U.S. Army Command and Staff College, Fort Lee, Virginia.  Dr. Stowe’s presentation, "Getting Right With the Army of the Potomac" centered on the army’s historical reputation and the factors that have contributed to that stature, and how a focus on social/institutional/political/operational realities should be emphasized over the personalities of its high-level commanders.  His first full-length work, George Gordon Meade: A Nineteenth-Century Life, is under advance contract with the Kent State University Press. In addition, he has a forthcoming chapter in the LSU Press anthology "Corps Commanders in Blue". Professor Stowe has taught previously at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and at the University of Toledo (Ohio).
